Happy Thanksgiving from the Eugene Bicyclist bunker

As it is customary to count our blessings on this day, and to give thanks to accordingly, I have a couple of things to say:

I am thankful for all of the free piles I have scrounged this past year:

I am thankful for wide seats:

I am thankful that we can, in urgent times, call upon our greater selves and realize something: This is not a red-bike bikerack. This is not a blue-bike bikerack. This is an American bikerack:

I am thankful for any and all who have stopped by on occasion to read this nonsense.

I am thankful for the comments and the e-mails.

I am thankful for bike lanes. I am thankful for milk crates. I am thankful that I did not hit the pavement this year.

I am thankful for the word “sharrow.” And the person Sharrow.

And, of course, for the crash pad on the WeeRide baby seat.

  1. I love your blog no matter what direction it takes. Whenever I check in every couple of days no matter where I am I’m delighted to see what you are seeing on your bike trecks and how you put them to words and pics.

Hey, can I use that last picture as one of the rotating WBE headers? Do you have a higher res version?
