Quick update on James Robert Gleich, the motorist who hit and killed bicyclist Mingo Pelkey in August: The DMV in Salem tells me that his license is, in fact, suspended.
I don’t know the details of how or why, but I’ll try find out more.

Was it just suspended or was it suspended before the crash even?
Not sure, but there’s no indication it was suspended at the time of the second crash in July — and he was not cited in that one. So unless something happened between that crash and the fatal one in August that we don’t know about, I don’t think so. More info is on the way, so I think we’ll know more in a couple of days.

Thanks for not letting this one go… I check back every week or so just to see what more has happened. I really really want that man prosecuted for criminal offence with highest penalty possible under Oregon law.
